FF Addon - Send Page by Email

You know how everybody loved it when Google made the sending a post via Greader easier? yeah, i was looking for something of that sort for sending web pages to friends right to their inboxes and not via any networking site like StumbleUupon or well the others.

I found a close to neat addon called: Send Page By Email (the name couldn’t be more fascinating no? ) . Right click and you can send the page you are viewing to somebody via a small app that you would have to download. for a more clearer look on its usage here is a little guide…

Step 1: Install the addon

Step 2: Download sendEmail.exe from here

Step 3: Set the options for the addon, for gmail the smtp port is 587 and smtp is “smtp.gmail.com”. Other details, such as the email address (do include the @gmail.com if you are using a gmail address) and the password you should know.

Step4: Extract sendEmail.exe and place it any directory. Say for example…

H:\sendEmail.exe > This would be the path you should note down and enter in the options where it asks you the path of that exe. and also specify a directory where it can store its temp files while sending emails. Example- H:\

Step 5: Fill in the most used email addresses and the labels you’d like to attach the emails with.

Step 6: Optionally, you can change the encoding if you so prefer.

Step 7: Send a webpage to me [at] sindhu [dot] com !

What i didn’t like was when it sent a email, it opened up the command prompt, although that window later closes automatically. its just a small obstruction while sending email that i don’t wish to see.
